A little fish house
on the bay.
We are a small takeout counter on Hilo’s bayfront. Local seafood, fried to order, in a crispy Hawaiian-style panko crust. Order at the window, grab one of a few seats, or take it to go.
Back to our roots
We grew. Then we came
back to the counter.
Mo’s started over a decade ago as one small takeout window on the bayfront. Over the years we grew. More space, more seats, more of everything. It got to be a lot.
So we made a choice. We came back to how we began: one little counter with a few good seats, doing one thing really well. Crispy seafood you order at the window and eat by the water. Less to manage, more care in every basket. That is the way we like it, and it is the way our regulars like it too.

How we cook
Ocean to table,
fried the minute you order.
Local seafood, cooked to order, never sitting under a heat lamp. Fish and chips, extra-jumbo black tiger shrimp, calamari, scallops, the Captain’s Platter, and Ono when we have it.
- That panko crust. Our Hawaiian-style breading fries up light, crisp, and golden. It is the thing people come back for.
- Cooked to order. Nothing waits around. Your basket comes straight out of the fryer to you.
- Sauces made in-house. Spicy cocktail, garlic dill aioli, malt vinegar aioli, and more, all made right here.
The room

The little counter is full of character. Weathered wood, buoys, an old world map, and boat propellers on the wall, with a big mounted catch watching over the fryer. A hand-painted “Ocean to Table” sign and the “Mo’s To Go” neon do the rest.
Feeding Hilo
We cook for our neighbors.
A little counter feeds a lot of people. We cater offices, the hospital, meetings, and family gatherings around town, family-style trays of fish, shrimp, calamari, and scallops that travel well and feed a crowd. Delivery available.
